The Democratic Republican
Building a New American Center Where Freedom, Compassion, and Divine Intelligence Work Together

For generations, Americans have been told they must choose.
Choose freedom or fairness. Capitalism or compassion. Republicans or Democrats.
I believe that is the greatest political mistake of our generation.
I call myself a Democratic Republican because I believe America's future depends not on choosing one side over the other, but on recovering the best values of both.
Not compromise. Integration.
Not moderation for its own sake. Wisdom.
That belief did not come from political theory. It came from my family.
Two Stories That Built My Politics
My maternal great-grandfather, Ismael Delgado, was born into privilege in Northern Mexico. As one of Pancho Villa's leaders, he spent years taking from the wealthy to give to the poor. During one battle he was left wounded and close to death inside a small hacienda.
A Christian missionary saved his life. He promised God that if he survived, he would dedicate his life to serving others. He kept that promise.
He became a minister, immigrated to America with his wife Carmen, worked as a ranch hand in New Mexico, and devoted the rest of his life to faith, family, and service.
His daughter—my grandmother Esther—spent most of her life working as a maid. She taught me his story and from her I learned that dignity comes through responsibility, hard work, freedom, faith, and the opportunity to build a better life.
Those are deeply Republican values.

My father's family tells a very different story. My grandmother Johanna Busse and grandfather Paul Anton Domagalski lived in Nazi Germany. They opposed the regime while neighbors disappeared into concentration camps.
After my grandfather died defending his home, my Johanna endured unimaginable violence during the Soviet occupation before escaping to West Berlin with my infant father. My uncle Helmut, only ten years old, ran through gunfire to join them.
From her I learned that governments can become dangerous, propaganda can manipulate entire societies, and every human being deserves equal dignity and protection.
Those are deeply Democratic values.
I Refuse to Choose Between Them
How could I reject either inheritance? One side taught me freedom. The other taught me justice. One taught responsibility. The other taught compassion.
America needs both.
That is why I describe myself as a Democratic Republican.
Living in the "AND"
Perhaps this comes naturally because my own life has always lived in apparent contradiction.
A Republican who believes every person deserves dignity.
A gay Christian father of three daughters.
A business executive, philanthropist, media maker and entrepreneur.
A believer in capitalism and social responsibility.
My identity is built upon what I call the AND. I no longer believe these are contradictions. I believe they are evidence that truth is often found by holding two seemingly opposing realities together.
What Is a Democratic Republican?
A Democratic Republican believes that social challenges should be solved using financially responsible, outcome-driven solutions rooted in freedom, responsibility, and measurable results.
We believe:
Freedom creates opportunity.
Opportunity should exist for everyone.
Markets create prosperity.
The government has an important but limited role.
Individual responsibility matters.
Communities matter too.
Instead of ideological warfare, we pursue practical solutions. Instead of rewarding promises, we reward outcomes. Instead of dividing America, we seek to unite it.
Five Principles of Democratic Republicanism
I will articulate these further in future articles but here the are in brief summary:
One Love
Politics begins with one timeless principle: Love your neighbor as yourself. Neither exists without the other.
Healthy individuals create healthy families. Healthy families create healthy communities. Healthy communities create healthy nations.
Pure Politics
The government exists to serve citizens—not parties. That requires: Transparency, Accountability, Election integrity, Ethical leadership, Measurable outcomes
Public trust must once again become America's greatest political asset.
Responsible Capitalism
Capitalism remains humanity's greatest engine for innovation and prosperity. But capitalism without conscience eventually becomes exploitation. The answer is not socialism.
The answer is responsible capitalism.
Markets should reward value creation rather than corruption, innovation rather than cronyism, and long-term stewardship rather than short-term extraction.
One Humanity
Every human being possesses inherent dignity because every human life possesses inherent value. We are one human race. Our differences in race, culture, nationality, religion, personality, and experience enrich our shared humanity rather than diminish it.
True unity, however, is not achieved by abandoning discernment. Love without wisdom becomes permissiveness, while wisdom without love becomes judgment. A healthy society must pursue both.
We must remember, above all, that we do and allow for our neighbor, we do to ourselves. For we are all One.
One Earth
Economic prosperity and environmental stewardship are partners, not enemies.
We should wisely use our resources, invest in innovation, and leave future generations a healthier nation than we inherited.
Why I Became a Republican
Many people are surprised that I identify as a Republican, especially as a leader in the LGBT community. My journey was not driven by party loyalty. It was driven by a search for truth, responsibility, and solutions that actually work.
For many years, I considered myself politically independent. I wanted to understand both sides rather than simply inherit their beliefs. I asked difficult questions, challenged assumptions, and refused to let ideology replace honest inquiry.
What I discovered surprised me.
I found that my independent thinking was often unwelcome on the political left. Too often, asking sincere questions or offering a different perspective was interpreted as disloyalty rather than curiosity. I realized I was being asked not merely to disagree—but to conform.
As I interviewed Democrats and Republicans across the country, another pattern emerged.
I found that many Democrats possessed deeply compassionate intentions. They genuinely wanted to reduce suffering, expand opportunity, and improve people's lives. I admired that. Yet I often struggled to find systemic solutions capable of producing lasting, measurable results. Too often, the answer seemed to be more government rather than better-designed systems.
Republicans, by contrast, appeared to better understand how enduring systems are built. They recognized that prosperity depends upon accountability, incentives, entrepreneurship, personal responsibility, and constitutional limits on power. They understood that good intentions alone cannot overcome poorly designed systems.
Yet they, too, had a blind spot. Too often, Republicans failed to communicate the compassion that inspires those systems and their hard work. They understood how to build the engine but sometimes forgot to remind people who the journey was for.
That realization transformed how I viewed American politics.
Democrats often carry the heart. Republicans often understood the architecture. America needs both. In my opinion, I can inspire the heart, but I can’t do anything without a team that knows the architecture to create change.
I soon came to realize that one of the gayest things you can do is become a Republican. Why? Because it begins with loving yourself. As RuPaul famously says, “If you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?”
To me, the Republican Party represents the responsible parent—the one who loves America enough to protect her, set healthy boundaries, and sometimes deliver the tough love we don't always want but often need. Real love isn't merely affirmation. It is the architecture of cultivating character, responsibility, self-respect, and the freedom to become the strongest version of yourself.
That does not excuse a lack of compassion. Nor does compassion excuse ineffective systems.
The strongest parent is both loving and wise. The strongest government should be as well.
I found myself embracing healthy debate, individual liberty, economic freedom, and personal responsibility while refusing to abandon the equal dignity and opportunity of every American.
That combination ultimately led me to become what I call a Democratic Republican.
Why Democratic Republican, and Not Republican Democrat?
The order is intentional.
Naturally, I welcome anyone who shares my values, regardless of the label you wear. My loyalty is to truth, human dignity, constitutional liberty, and practical solutions that strengthen America. In fact, many of my dearest friends identify as Democrats, and I want more than anything for us to work in agreement to build the kind of America we all desire.
Yet I have become deeply concerned that today's Democratic Party has, in many respects, lost its way.
I believe it too often encourages a diminishing view of America rather than a grateful determination to improve her. It often prioritizes aggressive positions on sexual expression and gender identity in ways that cheapen sex and risk creating confusion, instead of protecting the healthy development of all youth and adults.
The party too often places the interests of those who enter the country unlawfully ahead of securing our borders, protecting our citizens, and responsibly stewarding limited public resources. I believe it has increasingly embraced forms of identity politics that can deepen division rather than cultivate genuine unity and equal opportunity.
In my view, the greatest weakness of today's Democratic Party is its dependence on a media culture that too often thrives on division, outrage, and fears that reach deep into our childhood traumas. When hatred of a political party or leader is manipulated to become greater than love of country, judgment is clouded. And most concerning, when political alliances lead us to overlook extremists who persecute women, execute gay people, and reject basic human rights, we have lost our moral compass.
That is not the America I believe in.
The Age of Artificial Intelligence Demands Greater Morality
Artificial Intelligence will reshape civilization. Technology itself is morally neutral.
Human beings are not.
If AI amplifies greed, corruption, hatred, and division, humanity loses. If AI amplifies wisdom, transparency, compassion, and opportunity, humanity flourishes.
The defining question of this century is not whether Artificial Intelligence will transform civilization. It is whether civilization will become wise enough to guide it.

A New Political Center
America does not need another ideological revolution. It needs a moral one.
A politics rooted in truth instead of tribalism. Service instead of power. Freedom balanced by responsibility. Opportunity balanced by accountability. Responsible capitalism. Transparent government.
One Humanity. One Earth. One Love.
That is what I mean by being a Democratic Republican.
Not left. Not right. Forward. Together.

Why I Believe This Is a Prophetic Moment
Everything I have written so far stands on its own as a political philosophy. But if I stopped there, I would not be telling you the whole truth.
This movement was never born merely from politics. It was born from prayer.
What follows is not a policy argument. It is my personal conviction as a Christian who believes that God still speaks through history. It is my belief in love as a Gay person who has been rejected by all world religions, but came to believe in the single nature of God, One Love.
You are free to disagree with my interpretation.
But you deserve to understand why I believe this movement matters so deeply.
Divine Intelligence Must Govern Artificial Intelligence
The world is fascinated by Artificial Intelligence. I believe Heaven is calling us toward something greater.
Divine Intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence multiplies human capability. Divine Intelligence determines whether that capability becomes blessing or destruction.
Without wisdom, technology becomes tyranny. Without morality, innovation becomes exploitation. Without love, intelligence becomes manipulation.
The greatest danger before humanity is not that Artificial Intelligence becomes too intelligent. It is that humanity remains spiritually immature while wielding unprecedented power.
The Great Deception
Scripture repeatedly warns that the last days will not simply be marked by wars or disasters. They will be marked by deception.
Jesus repeatedly warned, "Do not be deceived." Paul warned that humanity would exchange truth for lies. John described powers that would deceive entire nations.
I believe deception has become the defining spiritual battle of our generation.
Our greatest idol is no longer carved from stone. It speaks through algorithms. It preaches through the media. It manipulates through fear.
The media is history's most influential preachers. When truth becomes negotiable, freedom soon follows.
Babylon Returns
The Book of Revelation describes Babylon as more than a city. It represents a civilization built upon wealth without righteousness, power without humility, luxury without truth, and commerce without conscience.
It intoxicates nations.
As I read Scripture and observe our world, I believe that spirit has returned.
I personally believe Democratic Socialism increasingly reflects many of Babylon's temptations—the promise that the government can become humanity's provider, protector, and ultimately its savior while steadily centralizing power.
Indeed we are witnessing a false prophet in the east, and the scarlet-rose whore that has deceived many nations. The promise of everything, but delivering a steady decline into nothing. She comes riding atop a great beast of many countries, who are salivating to see America’s destruction.
That is my theological interpretation.
It promises everything. It slowly creates dependency. It weakens responsibility. It concentrates power. History repeatedly shows how easily these forces erode liberty.
America now stands at that crossroads.
Gathering to the Center and Personal Transformation
This is not ultimately about Republicans defeating Democrats. It is about America refusing the false choice offered by both extremes and coming to the center, where Love is.
I believe there is danger on both the far left and the far right. But I believe the greater cultural momentum today is pulling America toward centralized political power disguised as compassion.
The government can administer. The government cannot redeem.
Only transformed people transform nations.
That is why I call Americans back toward a Democratic Republican center. And to understand that this is a spiritual time and calls for spiritual awakening.
The Rainbow Prophecy
When I speak of the rainbow, I do not mean identity politics. I mean God's covenant. Seven colors. One promise. Many people. One humanity. One earth.
Before rabbis, priests, preachers or imams ever existed, a promise was made.
I believe we are approaching the fulfillment of the Rainbow Prophecy. Not because humanity becomes perfect, but because enough people choose righteousness over wickedness, truth over deception, courage over fear, and love over hatred.
The rainbow belongs to no political movement. It belongs to God.
The Gathering of the Righteous
Throughout Scripture, God gathers people before moments of transformation. I believe he is doing so again.
Hindus. Christians. Jews. Buddhist. Faithful Muslims who honor the dignity of every person. Scientists who study Creation. And all manner of others who seek the highest frequency.
People of every nation and every race who sincerely seek truth, justice, mercy, and love.
Not one religion over another. Not one political party over another. But a gathering of righteousness itself. Called together by a One Love Gay Christian.
Hatred has no place in that gathering. Not antisemitism. Not racism. Not white supremacy. Not hatred of Christians. Not hatred of gay people. Not hatred of anyone created in the image of God.
Why I Speak With Urgency
Some will think these words are dramatic. Others will dismiss them entirely.
That is their right.
But I cannot ignore what I believe God has shown me. I believe history occasionally reaches moments where civilization must decide who it intends to become.
I believe this is one of those moments.
Not because the world is ending. But because one is beginning. And there are very real, dark truths about ourselves that we must face if we do not want to see our own destruction, at the hands of those that would see us fall back.
The Industrial Age is giving way to the Age of Intelligence. Our technology is accelerating faster than our wisdom. The question before us is not whether Artificial Intelligence will reshape civilization.
It will.
The question is whether Divine Intelligence will guide it.
My Calling
Standing here is not politically convenient. In many ways, it is social suicide. I will be criticized by those on the left. I will be criticized by those on the right.
I accept that.
Because I am not asking for authority. I have been given responsibility. Whether history remembers my name matters very little. Whether our generation responds to this moment matters enormously.
It is my job to call you to Wake Up (www.wakeuptoyourlifemagic.com), to the incredible power that lies within you. And to gather those who do awaken, to claim this moment and ensure that we do not lose what our ancestors and veterans across the Earth and in America so bravely sacrificed for.
Writing this reminded me of a scripture: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing”
Are we willing?
My Prayer for America
I pray Republicans rediscover compassion. I pray Democrats rediscover responsibility. I pray capitalism becomes responsible rather than exploitative. I pray the government becomes transparent rather than corrupt.
I pray Artificial Intelligence is governed by Divine Intelligence. I pray America remembers that freedom without virtue cannot survive.
And I pray that people of every race, every nation, every faith, and every political tradition rediscover the oldest truth ever spoken: Love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.
I believe that is the narrow road before us. I believe history will judge whether we had the courage to walk it. I believe this generation has been called to something extraordinary.
When I spoke at the Federal Reserve, I called for the rise of four spirits: the second coming of Christ, the Mahdi, the Kalki, and the White Buffalo—not as competing religions, but as humanity's shared longing for righteousness, justice, and awakening.
Whether one understands those figures literally or symbolically, I believe every civilization has anticipated a time when humanity would be called to its highest self.
As a Christian, I believe that the highest calling is found in Christ.
Yet I believe God has been preparing every people in ways they could understand.
The age before us will not be remembered simply as the age of Artificial Intelligence. It will be remembered as the moment humanity either surrendered to its lowest instincts—or awakened to its highest nature.
I believe we are being called to awaken. Not merely to Artificial Intelligence. But to Divine Intelligence.
And that is why I have chosen to call myself a Democratic Republican.
